Classification Of Iron Powder

Iron powder is an aggregate of iron particles with a size of less than 1mm. The color is black. It is the main raw material for powder metallurgy.

According to the particle size, it is customarily divided into five grades: coarse powder, medium powder, fine powder, fine powder and superfine powder. The iron powder composed of particles in the range of 150~500μm is coarse powder, the particle size is 44~150μm as medium powder, 10~44μm is fine powder, 0.5~10μm is very fine powder, and less than 0.5μm is superfine powder. Generally, the powder that can pass through the 325 mesh standard sieve, that is, the particle size is less than 44μm, is called sub-sieve powder. For higher-precision screening, you can only use air classification equipment, but for some easily oxidized iron powder, you can only use JZDF. Nitrogen protection classifier to do it.

Iron powder mainly includes reduced iron powder and atomized iron powder, which are named after different production methods.

Iron powder

For the iron powder produced by the atomization method or reduction method, if false agglomeration occurs, it needs to be broken up. Because many iron powders have high requirements for the dispersion environment, they need to be broken up in a closed circuit or under nitrogen conditions, so they are generally used JZC graded impact mill plus nitrogen system for breaking up operations. At present, the domestic giants have rich experience in dispersing equipment. Because the nitrogen system is relatively complicated, the dispersing operation of the nitrogen system requires high equipment.

Jet pulverization: Use JZDB nitrogen protection pulverizer to perform ultra-fine pulverization in a nitrogen environment to prevent oxidation. The purpose of using jet pulverization is to pulverize high-hardness iron powder to micron level, and the use of nitrogen protection system for pulverization is to prevent oxidation and explosion.

Classification

Generally, a rotary vibrating screen can be used for coarse screening, but for high-precision classification, only the airflow classifier can be used. For the classification of easily oxidized and explosive iron powder, only the JZDF nitrogen protection classifier can be used for high-precision classification.

Polyferric sulfate

The morphology of polyferric sulfate is a light yellow amorphous powdery solid, which is easily soluble in water, and a 10% (weight) aqueous solution is a reddish brown transparent solution with hygroscopicity. Polyferric sulfate is widely used in the purification treatment of drinking water, industrial water, various industrial wastewater, urban sewage, and sludge dehydration.

Handling and storage

Operation precautions: airtight operation, local exhaust. Operators must undergo special training and strictly abide by operating procedures. It is recommended that operators wear self-priming filter dust masks, chemical safety glasses, rubber acid and alkali resistant clothing, and rubber acid and alkali resistant gloves. Keep away from flammable and combustible materials. Avoid generating dust. Avoid contact with alkalis and alcohols. Pay particular attention to avoid contact with water. When handling, load and unload with care to prevent damage to packaging and containers. Equipped with leakage emergency treatment equipment. Empty containers may be harmful residues.

Precautions for storage: Store in a cool, dry and well-ventilated warehouse. Keep away from fire and heat sources. The relative humidity is kept below 75%. The packaging must be sealed and protected from moisture. It should be stored separately from combustible materials, alkalis, alcohols, etc., and avoid mixed storage. It should not be stored for a long time to avoid deterioration. The storage area should be equipped with suitable materials to contain the leakage.
