How is Titanium Nitride Powder made?
Titanium and nitrogen can be directly reacted at 1200degC to produce titanium nitride. A vapor-deposition method can be used to create the coating using a mixture of nitrogen and hydrogen with titanium tetrachloride. Titanium dinitride (TiN) is produced by heating metallic titan in nitrogen or ammonia between 900 and 1000degC. Titanium dinitride is produced by heating titanium tetrachloride with ammonia to 1000degC.
