The main components of Polyoxyl oleate included polyethylene glycol, monoesters, and diesters. The fatty acids were mainly oleic acid and contained myristic acid, palmitic acid, palmitoleic acid, linoleic acid, and linolenic acid at the same time. Polyoxyl oleate 460 and Polyoxyl oleate 860 differed greatly in the degree of polymerization of free polyethylene glycol. Conclusion: UHPLC-HRMS was used to analyze and characterize the structure of Polyoxyl oleate. It was found that the structure not only contained polyethylene glycol monoester and diester described in the Pharmacopoeia but also contained a large number of free polyethylene glycol monomers that were not esterified.
