Introduction to Boron Nitride Powder

Industrial powder made of Boron Nitride is a pure white ceramic material with an hexagonal crystal structure comparable to graphite. Boron nitride is resistant to temperatures of more than 2,000 degC. Depending upon the grade of the material, its dielectric strength could be around 1000 volts/millimeter. This makes it suitable as a surface coating for some optical components, and is particularly suitable for use as a coating of window material such as zinc selenide(ZnSe)and zinc sulfide(ZnS).In in addition, it has excellent resistance to thermal shock and is hard, and is predicted to be the ideal material to use as a window for high power light sources and detectors.
